Medium to dark brown. Some fine porosity that detracts little. Plain edge, but the coin was struck on an extra thick planchet that weighs 225.1 grains. (In contrast, our first federally issued coin, the 1793 Chain cent, only weighs 208 grains.) An interesting and rare error. Comes with a Grellman card graded 5 net 3+, minor porosity.
G5 net AG3+.
